For three generations, John’s Group has achieved success operating in the transport, travel, automotive retailing and the petroleum sector.

Group Chairman and founder John Farrugia first started supplying a transport service as a self-drive and car hire operation in 1958. A large part of the business was devoted to supplying transport for baptisms, weddings and funerals.

The first company within the Group, John’s Garage Limited, was incorporated on his retirement on 22 April 1977. Four other companies were later formed to enable the Group to carry out its mission: Sunrays Travel & Tourism Limited in 1983; John’s AutoCare Limited in 1993; PowerPlan Limited in 1995; and JF Motors Limited in 1998.

The Group’s direction and management was passed on to the second generation on John Farrugia’s retirement. Six of his seven sons sit on the Board of Directors of the various companies and are supported by a team of professional managers.

The third generation has recently been introduced, and is active in several departments, including Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Chauffeur Drive, Self-Drive and Finance.
